Using “dd” command!!!

လက္ရွိ linux သံုးေနတဲ့ partition (eg. /dev/hda) ကို image file type ေျပာင္းၿပီး “Linux Live CD” အျဖစ္လည္း သံုးႏိုင္ပါတယ္။ command ကေတာ့-

#dd if=/dev/hda2 of=/save/place/linux-live-cd.img bs=512

မည္သည့္ additional software မွ သံုးစရာမလိုပဲ ဒီလို လုပ္ႏိုင္တာေတြကေတာ့ linux ရဲ႕ အားသာခ်က္ပါပဲ။

/dev/cdrom ထဲက CD ကိုလည္း ‘dd’ command သံုးၿပီး .iso file type သို႕ ေျပာင္းေပးႏိုင္ပါတယ္။ ရိုးရိုးေလးပါပဲ။

#dd if=/dev/cdrom of=my_cdrom.iso

Clone HDD

HDD တစ္ခုကေနၿပီး အျခား HDD တစ္ခုကို clone လုပ္တဲ့နည္းကေတာ့-

#dd if=/dev/hda of=/dev/hdb bs=1024

ဒါကေတာ့ ‘dd’ command ကုိ သံုးတဲ့ method ျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ ‘cp’ command နဲ႕လည္း ေအာက္ပါအတိုင္း လုပ္လို႕ရပါေသးတယ္-

#cp /dev/hda /dev/hdb

Read/Write NTFS partition for Linux!!!

ntfs-3g driver အကူအညီနဲ႕ ေျဖရွင္းႏိုင္ပါတယ္။

http://www.ntfs-3g.org ကေနၿပီး ေအာက္ပါ package ႏွစ္ခု download လုပ္ပါ-

• ntfs-3g-1.810.tgz
• fuse-2.6.3.tar.gz

1. fuse-2.6.3 ကို အရင္ install လုပ္ပါ..

#./configure

#make

Forget your root password?

Don’t care about it!!! System ထဲကို single user mode နဲ႕၀င္ၿပီး root password ကို ေအာက္ပါအတိုင္း ျပင္လို႕ရပါတယ္..

Just do the following instructions:

1. grub> linux single init=/bin/bash
2. mount -o remount,rw /
3. password root (type your new password for root)
4. mount -o remount,ro /
5. reboot

Nvidia driver for Linux.

ေအာက္မွာေဖာ္ျပထားတဲ့ NVIDIA ရဲ႕ homepage မွာ လူၿကီးမင္းရဲ႕ hardware device အမ်ိဳးအစားေပၚမူတည္ၿပီး download လုပ္ႏိုင္ပါတယ္-

install လုပ္ရမယ့္ instruction ကေတာ့ ေအာက္ပါအတုိင္းျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ ပထမဆံုး X server ကို kill ၿပီးမွ console မွာ run ရမွာျဖစ္ပါတယ္-

#sh NVIDIA.xxx.run -q

#sax2 -r -m 0=nvidia

မွတ္မွတ္ယယ
